- Surface Preparation – The surface must be clean, dry and free of dust and grease. Glossy surfaces should be deglossed before painting. Repair all damaged areas and remove old, loose or flaky paint. New, fresh plaster must be sealed with this product or Valspar® Interior Primer & Undercoat prior to painting.
