Wood Primer Johnstone’s Trade Wood Primer is a solvent-based primer for softwood and non-oily hardwoods, suitable for interior and exterior use. Available in 1-litre, 2.5-litre and 5-litre packs, our Wood Primer can be applied with a brush to hardwood, planed timber and softwood to achieve coverage of 11-13 square metres per litre, depending on the nature and porosity of the surface being painted. Our Wood Primer is ideal for use with Johnstone’s Trade Acrylic Durable Eggshell and is recoatable after 16-24 hours in normal drying conditions. When working with new and bare timber, Johnstone’s Trade Wood Primer is the ideal undercoat.
