- Easy to work with – it has the same machining and chemical qualities as typical MDF.

- The boards are engineered from wood fibers mixed with waxes and resins and hot pressured to get the right thickness.
- Fire-rated MDF sheets are environmentally friendly.
- The wood fibers are obtained from recycled wood, sawdust, and forest thinnings; therefore, no tree is lost.
- To make it easier to identify each type of 18mm fire retardant MDF board, a light red/ pink dye is usually incorporated into the material during the manufacturing process.

- Like dust from other sheet materials is harmful, fire retardant MDF dust can be harmful if inhaled. So it is recommended to wear dust masks and goggles when working with fire retardant MDF. Besides, you should work in a well-ventilated area.
