Product information
Juncus effusus, commonly known as soft rush, is a clump-forming perennial with cylindrical, bright green stems that grow in dense, upright tussocks. In summer it produces inconspicuous brownish-green flowers in small clusters along the stems, adding subtle texture rather than showy blooms. This species is valuable for wetland biodiversity, providing shelter for small wildlife and stabilising pond edges and damp soils. Its upright, spreading habit and tolerance of waterlogged or consistently moist conditions make it ideal for pond margins, wet meadows, and naturalistic water gardens.
