Product information
Feel the flame of the fiery red foliage that erupts from this spectacular evergreen shrub. Ideal for more-or-less any garden and gardener, as an easy to care for and fully hardy Pieris, with interest spanning many months. Young red spring foliage matures to a rich and dark green. Plus, in late spring you’ll be treated to an impressive dusting of delicate white flowers, which closely resemble those of ‘Lily of the Valley’, holding firm for an impressive display for several weeks. Pieris are easy to care for and need little attention apart from the removal of spent flowers and a light trim every couple of years to keep shape. Although fully hardy they are best in a sheltered spot as young foliage can be damaged by severe frost and high winds. Plant in borders or large patio pots. Best in acidic soil, in containers use ericaceous compost. What’s more, this variety is very attractive to bees and other beneficial insects, even being labelled by the RHS as a ‘Plant for Pollinators’. Fully deserving its coveted RHS Award of Garden Merit, you can be sure this is a proven garden performer, guaranteed to be suitable for UK gardeners at every level of experience. You can therefore plant this in the garden with confidence, for stunning displays for many years to come. Supplied as an established plant in a 8-9cm pot, ready to plant.
